I am a keen amigurumi crocheter and struggle attaching safety eyes to my projects so I have printed off some plier like tools to help.

Each tool is 3d printed from PLA so should be strong enough for everyday use. I tried different sizes and types:
8mm, 12mm, 20mm plain plus 25mm clear (the ones you add the coloured back to) all worked fine. HOWEVER! the 20mm sinker eyes DID NOT work without breaking the tool! See the full video on my tiktok @kazcraftedbits!
I also use a dab of hot glue (not in the video) to the eye stalk before putting on the back when I add safety eyes to a project and this does tend to make the tool mucky but it is easily cleaned if done straight away.

I have printed in yellow or green as these colours can be seen easier in your workspace!
Each set is held together with a M6 x20 socket bolt and nyloc nut. Do not over tighten if you adjust. I haven’t added a spring (like the ones you see advertised) as I didn’t feel it was necessary.
